How to track changes in sales orders in SAP?

  • Change Documents – SAP provides a feature called “Change Documents” that tracks changes to various objects, including sales orders. You can enable change document logging for sales orders with the transaction code SCDO. Once this feature is enabled, SAP records all changes made to sales orders, such as changes to item quantities, prices, delivery dates, etc. You can view the change documents using the transaction code SCU3.
  • Sales Order History – SAP stores a detailed history of sales orders, which allows you to track changes over time. To view the sales order history, you can use the transaction code VA03, enter the sales order number, and navigate to the “Status” tab. Here you will find a list of all changes that have been made to the sales order, along with the user who made the changes, as well as the date and time of each change.
  • Document flow – The document flow functionality in SAP provides a graphical representation of the entire process for a sales order, including any changes made during the process. To view the document flow, use the transaction code VA03, enter the sales order number, and navigate to the Document Flow tab. Here you can see the chronological sequence of events and any changes made to the sales order at each stage.
  • Change History Log – In addition to the above methods, you can also use the Change Log feature. This feature allows you to track changes to specific fields within a sales order. To access the change log, use transaction code VA03, enter the sales order number, and navigate to the Item Summary tab. Right-click on the desired article, select “Changelog”, and you will get a list of changes made to that article.
